Hello, to all of you who have responded to the needs list on the Help Haiti Site. I just wanted to give you a brief update and say Thank You for your interest in Haiti and what is taking place since the Earthquake of January 12.
We are beginning to see some small amounts of progress. Some rubble is being moved now. Some buildings have been demolished and more are being ripped for their steel supports. Some areas of Port-au-Prince are still without electricity at all and are lacking even the most rudimentary elements to support the population.
We have hundreds of thousands of people still in tents and make shift shelters. The tent cities are growing and new ones literally spring up almost weekly. Life there is indescribable to us as Americans.
In spite of all the chaos and problems, the Church is alive and well, the gospel is being preached and people are coming to Christ. The Seminary opened in April and we graduated the class in July. Schools are open and people are trying to have some resemblance of a normal life.
We are rebuilding churches as fast as possible. Repairs are beginning also in many sites. We have more than 20 W&W teams booked before next Summer but we still have some open dates. NCM is responding with food production and we continue to distribute the goods you have sent in containers and by other means.
Please keep in contact with us. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated. May God Bless you for you concern and prayers. Write anytime.
In Service to those in need,
